At home in the Gut Berg nature HOtel
Enthusiasm for the origin
Long time ago the first guests arrived in the Salzach valley and found a farm named „Gut Berg“. Decades later, we can still say:
We are thankful for the location of the Gut Berg. It is amazing to have every day the view to the mountains, the green yards and the wood. We lead our hotel together with a farm. Experience insights of the farm life combined with comfortable rooms and suites, wellness and regional meals. The love to animals and for biological products is very important for the work on a farm.
Our guests enjoy the „first row place „on the mountain.
Farm Holiday at Gut Berg Naturhotel
Nature and animals in St. Johann – Salzburg Country
We are pleased – our newbuilt farm is finished!
All our guests, the adults and the children, are invited to watch how the stable work is going on.
Dear children, now it is possible to groom and saddle our ponies in winter and of cours take a guided ride.
Experience farm life
Next to the Gut Berg nature hotel, you find our farm. As passionate farmers, we want to show our guests the nature and life at a farm. For example, while feeding the animals, when riding and grooming one of our ponies. Look careful you will discover plenty in every corner. In the stable, on the yard is full of life. This is holiday on a farm. Adventures and nature pure.
Regional and sustainable
Regionality and sustainability in the foreground
Quality-conscious connoisseurs particularly enjoy fresh products from their own farm.
In addition, we work with suppliers from the neighbourhood whom we have held in high esteem for years.

The wood for the wood chip heating is also obtained from the company’s own forest.
As a renewable raw material, wood chips are considered environmentally friendly compared to fossil fuels.
For the generations that are yet to come.
More and more dog owners are looking forward to the location in the middle of nature with their four-legged friend to plan a holiday at Gut Berg. We are very pleased about that.
Dogs at Gut Berg!
We are dog owners ourselves and that’s exactly why the well-being of your furry friend is particularly important to us during your holiday.

- In Austria, there is a general leash and muzzle requirement for public spaces. In concrete terms, this means that if your dog wears a muzzle in the countryside, the leash requirement does not apply. In public transport, a muzzle and leash are mandatory. In residential areas, shopping centres and premises of any kind, leashes are generally compulsory. Dogs are completely prohibited on playgrounds
- In St. Johann, dogs must be kept on a leash in the entire town centre (within the town signs) and in areas of the districts of Reinbach, Maschl, Urreiting, Alpendorf and Plankenau, on the Treppelweg on the right side of the Salzach and on the former bridle path, outside buildings and properties.
- Humans are responsible for the “dogs mucks”! Sidewalks, paths, squares, children’s playgrounds and parks are often contaminated by dog excrement. The dog owners are responsible for the disposal of the mucks. The bags are available free of charge at the dog stations as well as directly at the municipal office and from us.
